UAE Plans to Improve Federal Education Sector

The UAE cabinet On April 8, 2019, approved the formation of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Schools Establishment aiming and supporting the objectives of enhancing the efficiency of the federal.

The approval for The Emirates Schools Establishment was executed under the chairmanship of Jameela Al Muheiri, Minister of State for Public Education.

The Board

The said independent board consists of members which include, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, Dr Najla Al Midfa, General Manager of Sharjah Entrepreneurship and Raja Easa Al Gurg, Managing Director of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group,

Other than these, it also includes the following; the Assistant Undersecretary for Knowledge and Cultural Policies at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, the Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, a representative of the Ministry of Community Development and a representative of the Federal Youth Authority.

The aim of the emirates school establishment is to enhance the learning environment with the help of an integrated educational system that contributes to the advancement of education". The board shall also be focusing on proposing various programmes in public schools in the UAE. The board was established to manage and operate public schools as an independent entity. Its mission is to advance the education sector with the UAE objectives.it will be implementing various policies regulations and standards related to the education sector in UAE.

The Formation of the Emirates School Establishment board has the following objectives,

  • Advancing the federal government education sector.
  • Encouraging studies and research on education development.
  • Develop strategies and plans for education and student care programs.
  • Manage and establish schools, kindergartens, vocational and technical institutes.
