A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university.

Clinical Work Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of working experience as a Registered Nurse.

Professional License

A current license/registration to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)

Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

English Proficiency Test

Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English. TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.

DHCA Licensing Exam

Required

  • Registered Midwife
 

Minimum Requirements

Professional Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university, and Evidence of specific midwifery training during or following completion of the degree.

Clinical Work Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a Registered Midwife.

Professional License

A current license/registration to practice as a Registered Midwife.

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)

Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

English Proficiency Test

Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English. TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.

DHCA Licensing Exam

  • Mental Health Nurse
 

Minimum Requirements

Professional Qualification

Option 1 - A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university. or Option 2 - A Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Nursing from an accredited institute/college/university. Or

Option 3 - A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university; and Post Graduate Training qualification in Mental Health Nursing of at least one (1) year duration.

Clinical Work Experience

As per the professional qualification above: Option 1 - A minimum of three (3) years of working experience as a Mental Health Nurse in a clinical setting. or Option 2 - A minimum of two (2) years of working experience as a Mental Health Nurse in a clinical setting. or Option 3 - A minimum of one (1) year of working experience as a Mental Health Nurse in a clinical setting 

Professional License

A current license/registration to practice as a Mental Health Nurse. or; a Registered Nurse license; and A letter from the issuing authority stating that there are no license titles for Mental Health Nursing

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)

Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

English Proficiency Test

Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English. TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.

  • Paediatric Nurse
 

Minimum Requirements

Professional Qualification

Option 1- A Bachelor’s degree in Pediatric or Child Health Nursing from an accredited institute/college/university; or

Option 2 - A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university and Post Graduate Training qualification in Pediatric Nursing of at least one (1) year duration *All Pediatric Nurses are required to submit a current and valid PALS certification

Clinical Work Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of working experience as a Pediatric Nurse in a clinical setting.

Professional License

Current Licensure or Registration to practice as a Pediatric/ Child Health Nurse or; Registered Nurse license; and A letter from the issuing authority stating that there is no license title for Pediatric or Child Health Nursing.

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)

Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English. TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.

DHCA Licensing Exam

  • Cardiovascular Nurse
 

Minimum Requirements

Professional Qualification

Option 1- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institute/college/university; and A Master's degree in Cardiac Care Concentration, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Cardiac Specialty program, Cardiovascular Health and Disease Management, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or related Cardiovascular nursing specialization program for at least (1) year.

Option 2- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institute/college/university; and Cardiac-Vascular Nursing board from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, or equivalent with evidence of clinical training in cardiovascular nursing for at least one year *All Cardiovascular Nurses are required to submit a current and valid ACLS certification.

Clinical Work Experience

Option 1: A minimum of (2) years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Nurse. Option2: A minimum of (3) years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Nurse.

Professional License

Current Licensure or Registration to practice as Cardiovascular Nurse or; Registered Nurse license; and A letter from the issuing authority stating that there is no license title for Cardiovascular Nursing.

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)

Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

Minimum Requirements

Professional Qualification

A High School Diploma or hold a Certificate of high school equivalency; and Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program from an accredited institute/college/university.

Clinical Work Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Nursing Assistant. Professional License A current license/registration to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

DHCA Exam Guidelines

  • Applicants can only register for the exam after the application review process has been completed. The applicant will then be given an Eligibility ID to register for the exam. To begin the application review process, kindly follow the link to register a profile and submit an application
  • Passing the DHCA Exam does not automatically guarantee a license to practice in DHCC. The license issuance process will be subject to the verification of the candidate’s credentials and submission of all necessary documents
  • DHCA Exam Eligibility ID is valid only for 3 months from the date of issue.
  • A candidate can have a maximum of 3 attempts per DHCA exam.
  • The result is available immediately once the exam is completed.

  • Proof of Continuity of Practice/ Certificate of Employment from all facilities within DHCC at which the applicant is currently practising.
  • Valid UAE medical malpractice insurance (MMI).
  • Valid Lifesaver course (BLS/ACLS/ATLS/PALS etc.), as applicable
  • The CPD activities and the CPD points earned during the two years licensure period
  • Proof of registration completion with Al Maktoum Medical Library (AMML).
